SUMMARY

The party explore the tower, making their way into the caverns below, confronting pirates and a dragon-worshipping cult before sacrificing their ally Captain Magnus Greaves to a giant crab so that they can raid the wreckage of the treasure galleon Bellisarius.

MAJOR EVENTS

• Explored Memorial Tower.

• Rescued halfling Gonin from a cult despite being ambushed by cult members.

• Discovered existence of the Children of the Dragon cult, supposedly lead by someone called Meldabran, who believed that if they worshipped the dragons they could ascend like the Elves who once occupied this place.

• Encountered a Cult Mage who they killed.

• Encountered an apprentice mage who agrees to let them into his masters quarter in return for his life.

• Magnus gets electrocuted by a glowing red run on an Elven statue.

• Discovered a trap with a gas-filled glass sphere, Rippin threw it into a cavern containing pirates, killing one of them.

• Encountered giant crab.

• Rippin threw Magnus to the giant crab who devoured him.

• Party ransacked the wreck of the Bellisarius and fled.

POST ADVENTURE

• After their drinking DAVEDOFF wakes up in the treasure hold of the ruler of Fort Redrock and narrowly escapes the guards by leaping out of a window clutching a fragment of an emerald.

• GNURL leads the tavern in an insulting song about a noble and gains a FAMOUS BARD ALLY.

• GRAMAELDA deflects an angry spell from a wizard from her tankard during her drunken antics.

• RIPPIN fined 10% of their wealth for starting a full-on tavern brawl and is barred from the SMOKING WYVERN tavern.

SUMMARY

The party head to a pirate ship that has crashed on the coast to the south of Fort Redrock, the vessel is sinking quickly and they plan to raid it.

MAJOR EVENTS

• GNURL swims out to ship with rope to enables his allies to make their way across.

• Explore vessel finding dead pirates.

• Encounter Pirate Captain Magnus Greaves who fires pistols at them, they incapacitate him and eventually they agree to ally and get him off the ship (since his crew has abandoned him) if he helps them retrieve the treasure. He tells them there is some sort of sea creature below deck.

• Encounter THE FROSTFIRE BROTHERHOOD a group all wearing cursed gold armour they are incapable of removing, the party slay CEDRIC, GOLDI is less than pleased although LEONA manages to broker a shaky peace.

• A giant octopus bursts from below deck.

• DAVEDOFF and GNURL fire the ships cannon at the giant octopus slaying it.

• They then retreat from the galleon as it sinks below the waves.

• Dragon scales discovered for a map to an area to the west known as THE DRAGONS GRAVEYARD.

POST ADVENTURE

• DAVEDOFF survives a blind knife throwing demonstration.

• GNURL makes friends with PIRATE CAPTAIN MAGNUS GREAVES and gains him as an ally.

• GRAMAELDA makes an enemy of a rival cleric when she beats them in a drinking competition.

• RIPPIN performs a prank on a corrupt merchant, gaining him an ally in the FORT REDROCK WATCH called LANKY FRANK.

SUMMARY

The party has been captured by Lizardmen but they manage to escape and flee to an abandoned temple where the creatures won’t follow them. Exploring the temple they find it seems to be a place where Lizardfolk once sacrificed their enemies to the plants of the jungle.

MAJOR EVENTS

• Party encounter an injured Lizardman warrior called RUNNING WATER, the mage VALRIE is able to speak to him and convinces the Lizardman to accompany them.

• RUNNING WATER tells them that this place is sacred to the jungle gods and then it is forbidden to enter, he was injured by a rival tribe the BLACKSCALES and fled here.

• They heal him and he says he will accompany them until this debt is paid.

• RIPPING finds a pool with metal glinting at the bottom of it, GNURL jumps in an is attacked by piranhas, he manages to haul himself out of the pool but fall unconscious due to his injuries. RUNNING WATER picks him up and carries him.

• Continuing to explore VALRIE is slain by a giant carnivorous plant.

• The group find an underground river and an old smugglers boat, they flee the cavern along the river and make their way back to FORT REDROCK.

• As they get out RUNNING WATER leaves them, saying that he has repaid his debt by dragging GNURL out.

POST ADVENTURE

• DAVEDOFF was locked in stocks for 1 day and fined 20% of his money for setting a building on fire.

• GNURL gained an NPC contact (BRUZKRUD a half-orc priest) after beating him in a darts-with-knives contest using his skill.

• RIPPIN survived blind-folded knife-throwing contest unschathed.

Xerkass is a haunted land occupied by strange creatures, where even the trees are twisted and hostile; it is said one of the floating Sky Cities fell to earth here, holding many precious items and treasures for those who are brave enough to seek them out.

The Jungle of Death is a sandbox campaign ran using the Shadowdark rules, set in a dangerous, jungle region of my home campaign world Altherra. Adventurers set out from Fort Redrock one of the few “civilised” settlements seeking riches and treasure in the largely unexplored jungle.
